THREE WAYS TO TEST

How would you like to order?

Important information for the home testing kit

1) Do not take the test less than 4 weeks after an allergic reaction due to risk of false negative results.

2) Avoid posting the blood sample on Friday or Saturday as the laboratory is closed over the weekend and sample should be fresh.

3) If insufficient blood is sent, a £35 postage and packaging fee will apply to send another kit.

4) The order can be cancelled before the test is processed and a refund can be arranged, less a £35 postage & packaging fee

For full terms and conditions see here.

If order is placed after 1pm, or on a weekend or bank holiday it will be dispatched the next working day

“Had ALEX³ and skin prick testing completed. Dr and staff members were incredibly friendly and welcoming as well as understanding. Would 100% recommend this clinic to anyone having allergy testing completed.”

KRISTOFER M · GOOGLE REVIEW

What an excellent service. Professional, quick to get back to me regarding questions I had, and an all-round great experience. I went in for blood tests for the ALEX3 allergy test, which was turned around within 2 days. The results confirmed multiple allergies I believed I had and others I was not aware of. I highly recommend both this clinic and the ALEX3 allergy test.

HASANUL H · GOOGLE REVIEW

Great professional allergy clinic, made me feel really comfortable going through deciding blood tests and skin tests and listening to what I wanted. The results were incredibly fast and so detailed!! Would recommend.

WHAT IT COVERS

300 allergens.
One blood sample.

Most allergy tests look at a single allergen or a small handful. The ALEX³ tests 82 whole allergens and 218 molecular components in a single analysis — one of the most comprehensive IgE panels available.

Food

Nuts, dairy, wheat, eggs, fish, fruit, vegetables, meat and more

Moulds

Aspergillus, Cladosporium, Alternaria

Environmental

Grass pollens, tree pollens, weed pollens, house dust mite, pet dander

Insect venom

Ant, bee wasp and hornet venom

What your results will show

Your report shows your IgE response to all 300 allergens — both whole allergens and the molecular components within them. A positive for a whole allergen (cat dander, say) may include several components that tell you more precisely what kind of sensitivity it is: whether a reaction is likely to be mild or severe, and whether cross-reactivity is a factor.

The top-level results are straightforward to read — a positive for peanut is a positive for peanut. It is at the molecular level that specialist interpretation adds genuine value; that work is specialist territory and isn't part of routine GP training, which is why GPs refer patients to us.

Would you like a Consultant Allergist to go through the results with you?

A results review takes up to an hour and costs £350. Book it now or after your results arrive — we'll schedule it to coincide with your report.

WHY HERE

Not just a testing kit — a consultant-led clinic

The ALEX³ is available from a number of providers. What is different here is who stands behind it.

The London Allergy Clinic has offered specialist allergy care since 1982. The ALEX³ is one of the tests our Consultant Allergists (Dr Gururaj Arumugakani, Dr Emily Derrick & Dr Tammy Rothenberg) use routinely with their own patients — they know precisely how to read it and what the results mean clinically.

If your results are straightforward, you may need to do nothing further. If they reveal something more complex — cross-reactive allergens, unexpected sensitivities, or a result that needs clinical context — a results review means you have a specialist to guide you, not simply a report.
