Why do an ALEX Allergen Panel Test
2
Most allergy tests focus on a single allergen, or handful of allergens, and therefore do not provide a comprehensive review. Most other tests also miss some of the specific molecular components that cause allergic reactions.
Our test detects these molecular components, covering 117 traditional allergens and 178 specific molecular components in one comprehensive test, eliminating the need for multiple tests and helping you manage your allergy symptoms more effectively.

What do the results say?IgE levels alone do not constitute a diagnosis of an allergy. They provide a useful indication as to which allergens your body may be sensitised to. Only a doctor can diagnose an allergy with certainty and a skin prick test may be required to confirm the diagnosis. Elevated IgE levels may not necessarily be linked to any symptoms you are experiencing.
-
Can I discuss my results with an allergy specialist?Yes, of course. Simply get in touch and we can arrange a consultation. A 10% discount will apply to the consultation if you have purchased an ALEX allergy test.
-
What does ‘IgE’ mean?Immunoglobulin E (IgE) is an antibody that forms a normal part of the immune system. With allergies, high levels of IgE can cause the immune system to react to harmless proteins from pollen, animal hair, or food, releasing histamine which leads to typical allergic symptoms.
-
Is the testing lab certified?Yes, the testing lab is accredited in accordance with International Standard ISO/IEC 17025:2017 – General Requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories. Testing Laboratory No. 22765
